Home is a biggest financial investment in most people’s lives. Buying or selling it should be a positive experience. The reality is that you can be a single person just moving out into the working world, a couple not yet ready for expansion, or a family looking to live in the heart of it all. Many find that beautiful Toronto condos are the perfect place to call home

Many urban dwellers are turning to Toronto condos instead of individual living homes. There are some differences between the two however. Condos in Toronto are on rise these days. Owners of Toronto condos hold the title to their unit or space and co-own along with the rest of the condo community, the lobbies, garages, security system, swimming pools and other amenities. Here are the five top reasons to buy luxury to:

Style = If you believe in living or staying with style then the first thing that you would notice be the style. Style is said to be the main thing or a good reason for buying this luxurious Toronto condos.
Location = the second main reason could be the location as many people desires of living in beautiful and natural location. Mostly all the Toronto condos are located at beautiful and attractive places. This could be the reason for buying Toronto condos.
Saving money: Saving money could be the other reason for buying a condo in Toronto. Buying your own house is very expensive. Now people are buying Toronto condos as these are less expensive and also provide more than a house.
Amenities: As mentioned earlier, Luxury Toronto condos are just like a house but having amenities like gym, swimming pool, community and many more. This could be the reason for buying a Toronto condo.
Space: Some people are of the view to live in an open space and Toronto condos provide open space at reasonable and affordable prices. Toronto condos are just like home but with the larger and open space.

Toronto condos are now available on rent as one who can’t afford to buy it can rent it. Now it becomes more affordable to stay as these are available on rent and everyone can afford it. Toronto condo is the perfect option for those professionals who travel often or who live alone. Having shared walls and community areas make it less likely for many crimes to take place due to the close proximity for neighbors. It is a lot easier for neighbors to look out for one another when living in condominiums versus living inside of a traditional home. While you may lose a bit of the privacy you might have in single family home, what can be gained in the area of safety may be well worth it for same.

Searching for condos in Toronto shouldn’t be a task you try to accomplish alone, especially with condos in this price range. For best results, let a qualified real estate agent help you find your condo. For more detailed contacts you can log on to: http://www.livedowntown.ca/

Perhaps you’re thinking about buying your first home but you’re not sure whether to buy a house or a condominium. These two options have unique pros and cons, so take the time to consider all the possibilities so you can make a decision that’s right for you and your family.

Should I buy a house? Here are some benefits:

- Family-friendly living. If you have a family or plan to start one, having a private yard is a great feature. Unlike apartment or condo settings, you can build a sandbox, swing set or simply enjoy the area.

- Control over your space. When you own a single-family home, interior renovations and decorations, as well as exterior landscaping, are at your discretion. You also don’t have to pay association fees to a board that makes decisions on landscaping or exterior maintenance. This fundamental freedom is a strong selling point for many homebuyers.

-Privacy. One of the best features of living in a single-family home is that you no longer share walls with neighbors. This means you don’t have to hear someone else’s music, conversation or furniture arranging. While city lots may put other homes close to yours, there’s still a buffer, and the more distance between your homes, the more privacy you can enjoy.

Should I buy a house? Here are some things to consider:

-Cost of maintenance. The independence of owning a single-family home comes with the lone responsibility for maintenance. Costs can add up fast, from minor things like doors that don’t shut properly and light fixtures that break, to major repairs like roofs, furnaces and water heaters. But, homeowner insurance can help protect your investment.

-Leaving your home unattended. If you’re a frequent traveler, leaving your home unattended can cause problems. For starters, an empty home is an easy target for burglars. Taking steps like holding mail and the newspaper, setting light timers and arranging for yard work or snow removal require advance planning and cooperation from neighbors and friends. Additionally, if a pipe breaks or a mechanical issue arises while you’re away, the damage will go unnoticed until you arrive home. If these issues seem daunting to you, consider looking into condo life.

Should I buy a condo? Here are some benefits:

-Shared responsibility and maintenance. One of the biggest benefits of living in a condo is the lack of maintenance. You typically pay a fee so the association can hire professionals to do major repairs and landscaping. This means you’re not cutting the grass or fixing that leaky roof. But, even though you aren’t responsible for property maintenance, you still need to protect your belongings with condo insurance.

-Modern facilities. Newer condo complexes have made great strides in reducing noise from neighbors. And central air conditioning, efficient appliances, Internet access and other technology features are more accessible in a new building.

-Luxurious perks and amenities. If you’re interested in easy access to many amenities that are out of your price range in a single-family home, a condo may be the perfect fit for you. Many complexes feature swimming pools, tennis courts and fitness centers.

Should I buy a condo? Here are some things to consider:

-Less family-friendly. Condos are generally made up of single people, couples with no children and retirees. If you want space for kids to grow and play, as well as other kids to play with, a condo may not be the best fit.

-Rules and restrictions. In the interest of preserving value, many condo associations restrict what you can and cannot do with your space. Restrictions may include rules on layout and renovations, decorations in common spaces or parking restrictions. You can review these rules prior to buying.

-Uncertain resale value. Selling your condo can be challenging depending on the market as well as the residents. When the market dips and condos become difficult to sell, many owners may rent their units. Typically, the more renters a condo complex has, the harder it is for other owners to sell.

Deciding whether to buy a house or condo is certainly a big decision, so take the time to weigh the costs and benefits before making a move. No matter where you choose to move, always protect your home and your property with insurance. You can get a homeowners insurance quote from Nationwide Insurance today.

I’m under contract to buy a condo, and from the inspection yesterday, the inspector said their may be some cover-up of water damage. He wasn’t able to find the source, or determine how bad it is. The bank that owns the house (it was a foreclosure) probably won’t be willing to fix it. What can I do to see how bad the damage really is? Should I be really worried? Since they couldn’t find a source, I’m not too worried, but part of me still thinks something fishy is going on… Please help!
The reason I know the bank made repairs, is because in the pictures of the condo online there are pergo floors, but in the condo, there is brand new carpet and cheap laminate flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms. The bank has owned this property the entire time it has been online. What are they trying to hide? Wouldn’t they only go to that expense if the damage was REALLY bad?

I live in a condo complex. My neighbor flooded our ceiling when she said her dishwasher wouldn’t stop filling water (not sure about it). Then I asked her Insurance, they wouldn’t cover because she said it wasn’t her fault. Later on she asked if my insurance would cover, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get one, because when I did, I thought I made a coverage, what I did was just a quote. So I asked my condo complex’s builder, he said, she should be liable, since she has been there for two years, and she should be responsible in maintaining her appliances. Right now, we are thinking of having a meeting with the neighbor, so that we can discuss on what to do. So what do you think I should do next!?
And yeah, I don’t think we don’t have a master condo insurance yet since we don’t have an association yet, I think it’s still under the builder. I’m not looking to sue anybody for anything else, except for a ceiling and a light fixture.

Here’s my problem… I have a friend who fired her contractor doing some bathroom remodeling. My husband is handy, but isn’t a plumber and offered to help free of charge get the job completed. He knew a buddy that came and did some pipes in the bathroom and saved her some money rather than hiring a professional company. So, now she was notified the condo below has water on their celing and it must be from the remodel job. She just now informed us she no longer has insurance and my husband is responsible for ALL damages? We don’t know what to do… this was a favor and if we knew she didn’t have insurance he wouldn’t have gone near it. Don’t wanna loose friend or $$$$??? Insurance professionals or anyone with advise please?

I own a condo/town home. I noticed water was puddling in my kitchen from under the baseboard of the wall that adjoins my neighbor. I called a plumber out to be sure it wasn’t an issue in my unit. Couldn’t find anything here. Noticed that the next door neighbor’s patio area had a lot of collected water and also mold on the exterior siding. Also noticed what looked like water coming down the window from inside. Rang the doorbell and knocked w/ no answer. Noticed her car parked out front ( she only has one). Got worried and called condo association but couldn’t reach anyone since it’s Saturday. Got really worried after extensive knocking on neighbor’s door and no answer. Called cops. Cops come out and enter home ( back door was unlocked). Cops find home empty but are flabergasted at the state of affairs inside. The entire upstairs bathroom floor had collapsed into the kitchen area with water pouring down walls– entire dining room/kitchen area flooded. Cops also mention extensive mold on walls and rats and roaches running around!! Garbarge everywhere inside. A complete nightmare. The cops said the place needs to be condemned. Finally talk to property management company who seems to think that it’s okay to wait until Monday to do anything. We have our plumber turn off the water outside. A few hours later a water and fire damage restoration company shows up stating they received a call from the unit owner ( landlord). The guy says the tenant has ‘been out of town’ and is supposed to be meeting him there. We inform him of what is going on inside. Tenant shows up in a cab and promptly tells us that she was unaware of any problem and has been out of town since Wednesday. She also mentioned that the landlord was aware of the issue before the condo association called him?? How did he know if she didn’t know?? It’s obvious by the extensive damage inside that this has been an ongoing problem. Not only that but what explains the filth, garbage, and rats?! I need some good advice on what my next steps should be. We are going to file a complaint at city hall and I will be contacting the owner and demanding that he pay for a full inspection of my unit as well as any necessary repairs. I am worried about the health hazard and the potential damage to my structure! Should I seek legal help? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I live in California, but own a condo in Phoeniz, AZ.. I’ve had a great tenant for about a year now and she just signed a lease for another 6 months.

On Friday, the washing machine in the unit ABOVE mine overflowed and caused A LOT of water damage. It hit my condo and 5 others! The damage was the worst in my condo though.

Haven’t heard from the above owner and her property manager told my insurance agent he would have to formally request the owners name in a letter to get it. How lovely.

I have isurance, but I was told the owner in the condo above mine does not have personal insurance and they are trying to get the HOA insurance to cover everything.

I was told by my insurance agent that there is almost $100k worth of damage to all the condos that were hit.

Like I said, I have insurance but this owner above sound iffy. I find it unlikely HOA will cover this.

IF this goes to court, do we need to prove there was negligence or is the owner above responsible no matter what? it was her washing machine.

I might lose a tenant, the property value of my condo went WAY down. I don’t know what I should do.

Not sure if the owner will fix her own condo w/no insurance. EEk
